The reports of the Central Government not placing any new order for the Corona vaccine have been misconstrued. The central government has said that several media reports have claimed that no new orders have been placed for the vaccine, which is completely wrong. A statement issued by PIB said, "Media reports claimed that only two vaccine makers were ordered for vaccines by the Indian government in March 2021. Such media reports are completely false and not based on facts. ' Media reports claimed that in March 2021, the central government had ordered 100 million doses to Serum Institute of India and 20 million doses to Bharat Biotech.
Not only this, the government has been told that vaccines have been ordered for May, June, and July. The government says that on April 28, a payment of Rs 1,732 crore has been made to the Serum Institute of India. This payment has been made in May, June, and July to supply 11 million doses of the Covishield vaccine. Apart from this, orders of 10 crore doses were made earlier, under which 8.744 crore doses have been supplied by the company till 3 May. Apart from this, orders have been placed to supply 5 crore doses to Bharat Biotech. This order has been placed for the vaccine in May, June, and July.
Giving this information, the government has said that it is clear from these details that the new order for the vaccine is not wrong. Not only this, the central government has made it clear that 16.54 crore vaccine doses have been ordered on behalf of the state governments and union territories. Apart from this, 78 lakh doses are still available with the State Governments and Union Territories. Apart from this, 56 lakh doses are going to be supplied to the state government and union territories in the next three days. Explain that the Sputnik-V vaccine has also been approved by the Central Government. The availability of this vaccine is also going to increase from this month.
After the statement issued by the central government, now the Serum Institute of India has also said that it is working closely with the government. On behalf of the company, it has been tweeted and said, 'We appreciate the authenticity of this statement and information of the government. We have been working with the Central Government on the supply of vaccines since last year. We are making every effort to increase the production of vaccines. '
