US supports Finland-Sweden joining NATO

It has been more than four months since the Russia-Ukraine war, but no result seems to be coming. Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden has supported Finland and Sweden in joining NATO. Biden said that both the country's army and its democracy are strong.

Biden said his membership would strengthen NATO's collective security. I look forward to working with NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg, our allies, to ensure that we can welcome him to our alliance as soon as possible.

When was G-7 formed, what is the situation in the world?

G-7 is a group of 7 developed countries with a 31% share of the total GDP of the world. Only 10% of the world's population lives in these. While the share of international carbon dioxide emissions is 21%. The UK, Germany, France, Canada, USA, Italy, and Japan are its members. It was started on 25 March 1973. Then 6 members were involved. Canada joined it the following year. In 1998, Russia also joined it. Then it became the G-8. Each country in turn presides over this group.

Why is China not a member?

China is not included in the G-7 countries. The reason is that per capita income is still very low in terms of GDP in China because their population is high. That is why China cannot be a part of it. India is also not a part of this group for the same reason.

Why was India called?

India was invited to the conference as a guest nation this year. Apart from India, Australia, Korea, and South Africa were invited.

Why was Russia removed?

Member countries had differences from Russia. Russia annexed Crimea, the Black Sea peninsula of Ukraine, in 2014. After that, he was removed from the group.

How effective is the G-7 in the world?

The G-7 has been criticized for saying that it has never been an effective organization. However, the group claims several successes, including launching the International Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria. The group claims that it has saved 27 million lives since 2002. Explains its role behind implementing the 2016 Paris Climate Agreement. It does not include any country in Africa or Latin America.

What did you get from the G-7 this time?

In addition to a ban on gold imports from Russia, a $600 billion infrastructure plan was announced to compete with China's Belt and Road Initiative. It has been named the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment (PGII). It is also called Build Back Better World.

How has the G-7 helped Ukraine so far?

The G-7 member countries had last month agreed to provide additional financial assistance of Rs 1.55 lakh crore to Ukraine. However, only 10 percent of what these countries have promised has helped Ukraine.
