Six weeks ago, Saudi Arabia's aging King Salman named his son, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, as prime minister. Mohammed bin Salman was made the prime minister of Saudi. Mohammed bin Salman, 37, got the post of the prime minister only in September this year. At the same time, the Biden administration of America on Thursday relieved Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia for the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Mohammed bin Salman is relieved because of the new role of Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia. In a document filed in a District Court of Colombia, the US Justice Department has said that the immunity of a head of state is well established in international law.

the judge will make the final decision

On Thursday, the Biden administration announced that Prince Mohammed had been spared from US prosecution because he had become prime minister. Along with this, the US administration said that his request is non-binding and a judge will make the final decision on whether he should be granted relief or not.

Human rights activists and American lawmakers are sure to be angry

The administration's move is sure to anger rights activists and several US lawmakers, as Saudi Arabia has tightened oil production cuts and crackdowns on peaceful critics at home and abroad.

US intelligence says he also had a role in the 2018 killing of an American journalist by Saudi authorities.

The lawsuit was filed in a Washington court by the fiancee of slain journalist Jamal Khashoggi and a DC-based rights group founded by him. It charged about 20 aides, officials, and others, including the crown prince, with plotting and carrying out Khashoggi's murder at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.
