The 65th match of IPL 15 was played between Sunrisers and Mumbai Indians. In this match, SRH won by 3 runs. Mumbai batsman Tilak Verma can be considered the villain of the match. Be sure to take part in this poll before proceeding.
Tilak, who came to bat in good condition, lost the wicket by playing a bad shot
When Tilak Verma came to bat, the team needed 93 runs in 8.3 overs to win. The highest run-scorer for Mumbai Indians this season was expected to take his team to the door of victory. Meanwhile, Umran Malik brings the first ball of the 15th over.
This ball was short of length outside off. The ball came towards him faster than Tilak's expectations. By the time he was in a position to play the pull shot, the ball had already reached him.
As a result, Tilak played that ball in the air in the direction of extra cover. Williamson, the captain of Sunrisers present there, took a simple catch. In the absence of Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak was dismissed for 8 runs in 9 balls.
The day a veteran player like Sunil Gavaskar praised, Tilak was a flop on the same evening
Tilak was sent at number four by Mumbai Indians with great expectations. The team felt that Tilak would easily lead the team to victory after the openers gave a quick opening stand of 95 runs.
In such a situation, Tilak broke the trust of the captain and the management. Tilak Verma, whom Sunil Gavaskar is touting as the future player of the Indian team in all three formats, failed to fulfill the responsibility against Sunrisers.
Tilak looked uneasy facing the express pace
Umran Malik's ball has speed, every batsman knows this. Rituraj Gaikwad was the first to score runs against him while playing straight with the bat. After that, the rest of the batsmen also adopted the same strategy against Umran.
The advantage of playing with a straight bat is that the chances of hitting the edge of the bat are reduced. Along with this, the batsman also gets the benefit of the bowler's speed. Seeing Tilak Verma, he felt that he was not at all ready to face Umran.
If he wants to play international cricket for a long time, he will have to find ways to score runs in front of express speed bowlers.
