The mysterious death of two Russian tourists in Odisha's Raigad district has raised concerns among hoteliers. He has written a letter to CM Naveen Patnaik saying that this will affect the hotel business.

The Hotel and Restaurant Association of Odisha (HARO) has urged to ensure justice for the killings of Russian nationals. In a letter to Patnaik, the organization called for a strong action plan for the safety of tourists, especially foreign tourists. The organization has called for special protection for foreign tourists during the Hockey Men's World Cup starting January 13.

Organization president JK Mohanty wrote in the letter that we request an inquiry into the death of two Russian tourists under mysterious circumstances. Necessary steps should be taken to prevent the further spread of negative news. Mohanty says that the death of Russian tourists is hurting the prospects of tourism in Odisha. He said that this incident is expected to reduce the arrival of foreign tourists in the state. Mohanty said that before the Corona pandemic, Odisha used to get around 1.5 lakh foreign tourists every year.

Anti-Putin Russian MP Antonov and his companion died

Meanwhile, the Odisha CID has stepped up the investigation into the death of Russian parliamentarian Pavel Antonov (65) and his co-passenger Vladimir Bidenov, who died after allegedly falling from the third floor of a hotel in Raigad on December 24. Bidenov was found dead in the same hotel room on 22 December. Antonov was considered an opponent of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The two were part of a four-member group that reached Raigarh on December 21 with travel guide Jitendra Singh from Delhi. According to the police, the postmortem report indicated that Russian MP Antonov died due to internal injury due to a fall and Bidenov due to cardiac arrest.
