UP Elections: Will the equation change due to Ram Mandir and Owaisi in Bundelkhand?

Posted on 27th Oct 2021 06:20 pm by rohit kumar

The agitation for the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh has started. All the political parties are busy deploying their pawns. Somewhere there is talk of an alliance, somewhere about electoral issues. There will be no shortage of issues in the assembly elections of the country's largest state. Each region will see a different problem and a different election issue.

In Bundelkhand of UP, we went to some villages in Jhansi, Lalitpur, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Banda, and Chitrakoot districts and tried to know the condition of the people and also wanted to understand how is the atmosphere regarding the elections and whether the real issues will also be able to make a place in the elections?

Will the UP elections also be fought on the issue of Hindu-Muslim like other states or will it be a matter of development? Will the coming of Asaduddin Owaisi's All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) change the electoral equation in UP? And will the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya benefit the BJP in the elections?

These are the questions about which we reached out to the public and tried to know the answers. Also, wanted to understand what are the real election issues for them?

Bundelkhand is counted among the lowest per capita income areas of the country and human development is also very low here. Due to the low level of education, the problem of poverty and unemployment is also big here.

In Bundelkhand, which is hit by drought almost every year, farmers cultivate only once or twice a year. Even on that many farmers are dependent only on rainwater.

Wheat, gram, peas, mustard, groundnut, soybean are cultivated in this area. But due to lack of water, proper yield is not there. The farmer here is facing the problem of stray animals. For the farmers of Hamirpur, Banda, and Chitrakoot, this problem is serious and for them, it is also an election issue.

matter of issues

Sitaram, a resident of Gusiyari village of Hamirpur district, is filled with anger, narrating his problem. He says, "We work all day long. They roam in the fields with sticks throughout the night. Animals spoil the crop. Can't sleep They run night and night with sticks in the dark. The crop is destroyed. Take debt and eat. Tell me what to do? What to do with such a government?

Isar Ahmed, a resident of the same village, says that AIMIM will not get even a single seat. They call it BJP's 'B' team. Along with this, he also tells of the defeat of the BJP in his area.

When asked the reason, he said, "Inflation and unemployment".

He says, "Diesel has crossed Rs 100, petrol has crossed Rs 110 and mustard oil has crossed Rs 200. where does the mango? What to eat? What if you don't die? Cows are roaming, there is no arrangement for them. The field in which she entered will be destroyed. The problem of stray animals is serious.

On the question of whether the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya will benefit BJP votes in the elections, Sitaram says, "By taking donations, BJP people kept it in the house. Ram temple is being built in Ayodhya. He is God. The temple would not have been done by shining them. If we do worship throughout the day, that too is useless. The soul is divine. Who does not take the name of God? Every man takes a name. God has said a little that you should build my house. This is all drama. All this is the work of shining BJP people.

On this question, Issar Ahmed says that it will be used only to create a communal atmosphere, but its effect will not be seen in the elections.

He says, "This is the work of communal parties. Which makes people fight among themselves. Hari is in every. He is worshiped at both places. Be the first human to rise from Hindu Muslim. That's more important."

"Go away after asking for votes, don't listen to the problem"

In most places, people are angry that politicians ask for votes with folded hands and feet at the time of elections but do not appear among them for five years after winning the election.

Bundelkhand is very backward in terms of development and the people here have a deep employment crisis. The youth of this place go to other states and work as laborers so that they can feed the family. There is no yield in agriculture and some people do not even have their land. In such a situation, they go to other states and work in factories, so that they can earn their livelihood.

Babul of Banda district said in a conversation with the BBC, "If you go to Surat or Ghaziabad, it is fine there, at least you do not crave food."

Says Babul, "Means to feed the poor man. Whoever the government wants to be. The poor will earn Rs 300 while working. Will buy oil for Rs 200. If I brought vegetables for 100 rupees, what was left? Got sick, so there is no money for treatment. Then only man will die.

He says that most of the people in the village do not have Ayushman health cards.

Babul further says, "We do not think anything will change with the arrival of someone. Is 20-22 years old. So far nothing has changed. So many prime ministers have changed. Legislators changed leaders. Vote for whomever you want. Everyone talks sweetly at the time of elections. Afterward, no one can be seen.

What equations will change with Owaisi's arrival?

After winning five seats in the Bihar assembly elections, AIMIM's eyes are now on the UP elections. Although many people say that Owaisi's arrival will not harm the BJP, it will benefit.

Asaduddin Owaisi has announced to contest on 100 seats in UP. In one of his statements, he had also said that the situation of Muslims in UP is worse and he will change it.
