Year Ender 2022: This time the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is adopting its old pattern for conducting board exams. Last year, CBSE changed its exam pattern due to Coronavirus.

CBSE has reverted to its old pattern of conducting a single board exam for classes 10th and 12th (CBSE Class 10 & 12 Old Exam Pattern). From this year, the examination of classes 10th and 12th will be conducted only once.

Last year, because of the situation of coronavirus infection in the country, it was decided to conduct the board examination in two terms. The marks of students who could not appear in one exam due to infection were calculated based on the second exam. But this policy is now being abolished by CBSE. A few days ago, information about this was given in the Parliament by the Union Ministry of Education.

This time the questions asked in the board exam will be objective type, Constructive Response Type, Assertion i.e. Assertion, Reasoning i.e. Logic, and Case i.e. Case-based questions will be asked.

Union Minister of State for Education Annapurna Devi shared this information in a written reply to a question asked in the Lok Sabha during the Winter Session. In line with the new National Education Policy 2020, CBSE is introducing aptitude-based questions in class 10th and 12th board exams to improve the pattern of exams. These questions include multiple formats like Objective Type, Constructive Response Type, Assertion, Reasoning, and Case-Based Questions. The minister said that in the academic session 2022-23, about 40 percent of questions in class 10th board exams and about 30 percent of questions in class 12th are merit-based.

Changes in ICSE exam pattern as well

ICSE exam pattern has been changed this time. Last year, due to Corona, the CISCE exams were conducted in two terms. But from this year the final exam will be held only once. It has been decided by CISCE to conduct only one examination at both the ICSE and ISC levels at the end of the academic year 2023. CISCE has released the proposal to conduct these exams in February/ March 2023.
