The US warned on Thursday that countries that bypass US sanctions against Russia will face consequences. America's Deputy National Security Advisor (Deputy NSA) Dalip Singh said in a media briefing during his visit to India – no one will believe that if China violates the LAC, then Russia will come running to India's help.
Duleep said that India's purchase of energy from Russia is not a violation of US sanctions at present, but we want India to reduce its dependence on Russia.
Dalip Singh, who played a key role in preparing US sanctions against Russia, arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday on a two-day visit.
America ready for India's energy needs
Duleep made this statement on the day when Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrived in Delhi on a two-day visit to India. The Russian Foreign Minister's visit is likely to discuss the ruble-rupee payment system for bilateral trade, including the purchase of Russian oil.
Asked about India's decision to buy oil from Russia at affordable rates, Duleep said the US is ready to meet India's energy and defense equipment needs.
China is a strategic threat to the Indo-Pacific
Referring to the Quad cooperation, Duleep said the group recognizes that China is a strategic threat to a free, open, and secure Indo-Pacific. Duleep said- You cannot turn away from the reality that China and Russia have announced a no-limit partnership. At the same time, Russia has said that China is its most important strategic partner.
Impact of Russia-China relations on India
Duleep said that all this is sure to have an impact on India. Russia is going to be a junior partner in this relationship with China. Relations between Russia and China will prove against India. I don't think anyone would believe that if China violates the LAC once again, Russia will come running to India's defense.
That's why we want democracies around the world, and especially the Quad countries, to come together and put our common interests in Ukraine at the top. The deputy NSA said that if the impact of the Russian attack is not controlled, it will be very fatal.
