Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections: The fate of these five high-profile candidates will also be decided in the seventh phase.

Voting is being held on Monday in the seventh and final phase of 54 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh. Many high-profile seats are also included in these 54 assembly seats in nine districts.

In this phase, elections are also to be held in Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Azamgarh district, which is the parliamentary constituency of Akhilesh Yadav. The reputation of both the big leaders in these districts is also at stake. Apart from this, polling will be held in Chandauli, Bhadohi, Mirzapur, Robertsganj, Ghazipur, Mau, and Jaunpur districts.

Although in these 54 seats, more than 2 crore voters will decide the fate of 613 candidates, some seats will have a special eye.

1. Dara Singh Chauhan (Ghosi, Mau)

Dara Singh Chauhan, who was a minister in the Uttar Pradesh government, had joined the Samajwadi Party just before the elections. First Swami Prasad Maurya and then Dara Singh Chauhan, who came from the most backward class, were in the headlines a lot when he came to the SP.

Dara Singh, who contested Madhuban in Mau in 2017, has been fielded by the Samajwadi Party from the Ghosi seat. Now Chouhan is up against sitting MLA Vijay Rajbhar of BJP, Waseem Ahmed of BSP, and Priyanka Yadav of Congress.

Fagu Chauhan of BJP had won this seat in the 2017 assembly elections. Later Fagu Chauhan was made the governor of Bihar and Vijay Rajbhar came out winning the by-election from BJP.

Now, on one hand, Dara Singh Chouhan in his election campaign was seen calling BJP a party that neglects backwards-Dalits, while on the other hand, BJP was calling him a traitor.

2. Omprakash Rajbhar (Zahurabad, Ghazipur)

Omprakash Rajbhar, who played an important role in the allegation and counter-allegations in the current assembly elections, is contesting from Ghazipur's Zahoorabad seat.

Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief and sitting MLA from Zahoorabad where Rajbhar was supporting BJP in the last elections, this time he has allied with the Samajwadi Party.

Rajbhar is pitted against BJP's Kalicharan Rajbhar and BSP's Syeda Shadab Fatima in Zahoorabad's seat. Like Omprakash Rajbhar, the equation of these two candidates has also changed in the current election.

Kalicharan Rajbhar has been MLA from BSP twice, this time he is contesting on BJP ticket. On the other hand, Shadab Fatima is challenging the Samajwadi Party by coming here to the BSP. Well, all the equations have changed on this seat, so the competition is being told as triangular.

3. Neelkanth Tiwari (Varanasi South, Varanasi)

Talking about Varanasi, the eyes of the whole country are on the eight assembly constituencies here. But Varanasi South seat will have a special eye. The importance of this seat can be understood from the fact that all the famous temples of Banaras including Vishwanath temple are in this area. Not only this, but this area is also the stronghold of the world-famous Banarasi saree.

BJP has expressed confidence in the sitting MLA from this seat and minister in the Uttar Pradesh government, Neelkanth Tiwari. By the way, since 1989, this seat is continuously occupied by BJP. But this time the matter is being told a little different.

The Samajwadi Party has fielded Kishan Dixit, who is from the Mahant family of the famous temple Maha Mrityunjay. In such a situation, it is being said that the priests and pandas of the temples can come with them who were with the BJP last time.

This is the area of PM Modi's parliamentary seat, so there is also a question of prestige for the BJP. Prime Minister Modi himself has campaigned for the party by camping in Varanasi for three days before the seventh phase of polling.

4. Abbas Ansari (Mau Sadar, Mau)

Mafia don and Bahubali leader Mukhtar Ansari is in jail, but his son Abbas Ansari is in the fray from Mau Sadar's seat. This is the same seat from where Mukhtar Ansari has been elected MLA for five consecutive terms. Ansari is the sitting MLA from here.

This time Abbas Ansari is the candidate from Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party here. Ashok Singh, who has been trying to get candidature from BJP for the past several times, has been nominated by the party from here. Ashok Singh has been continuously alleging that Mukhtar Ansari had a hand in the murder of his brother.

Due to their father Mukhtar Ansari being in jail, Abbas Ansari was engaged in the election campaign and was seen seeking votes in his father's name.

5. Dhananjay Singh (Malhani, Jaunpur)

Dhananjay Singh, one of the famous Bahubali leaders of Purvanchal, will also be seen in the seventh phase.

This election holds special significance for the political career of Dhananjay Singh, who is often in the news due to his criminal background. Dhananjay is again contesting on the JDU ticket this time.

In this seat, he will challenge the sitting MLA and close leader of the Mulayam family Lucky Yadav. Mulayam's close and old colleague Parasnath Yadav has been MLA twice from Malhni's seat.

After the death of Parasnath, Lucky Yadav came after winning the by-election, when he defeated Dhananjay Singh, who was contesting as an independent.

In Malhani, Mulayam Singh Yadav had also come to campaign and, referring to Parasnath, was seen asking for votes for Lucky Yadav. In such a situation, Lucky Yadav may have to face tough competition. BJP has fielded KP Singh here.

Apart from these five seats, there may be tough competition in many other seats as well. Apart from Neelkanth Tiwari, other ministers of the Yogi government like Anil Rajbhar, Girish Yadav, Ramashankar Patel, and Ravindra Jaiswal are also in the fray.
