
41 lives are still at stake in the Silkyara Tunnel accident of Uttarkashi. For the last 10 days, 41 laborers have been sitting inside the tunnel hoping to come out. Rescue operations have also going on here on a war footing for the last 10 days. Tuesday morning started with the good news of the first photographs and videos of 41 workers trapped in the tunnel. Now on Wednesday, big news is coming out regarding this campaign.
Today the rescue operation continues on the 11th day. Machines have been airlifted from every corner of the country and drilling work is going on day and night in Uttarkashi. The auger machine was operated at night to rescue the workers trapped in the Silkyara tunnel. By Wednesday morning, about 32 meters of 800 mm diameter pipes had been inserted into the debris. It is expected that 41 laborers trapped in the tunnel may come out late on Wednesday night or Thursday morning.

The rescue operation has gained momentum. The administration has also started its other preparations. Adequate ambulances are also being arranged to take the workers to the hospital. For which ambulances have been called from Tehri and other districts also. It is expected that the workers can be rescued by Wednesday night or Thursday morning.
Enhanced security arrangements
The district administration and police have tightened security around the tunnel. The phones of workers and employees going inside the tunnel are also being collected at the tunnel gate itself.
Airlift machines from Rourkela and Bengaluru
The Air Force is also continuously cooperating in the operation being conducted to rescue the workers trapped in the Silkyara Tunnel. At present, work has been started on all fronts of relief and rescue operations. Therefore, various agencies need state-of-the-art machines. Air Force cargo planes are proving helpful in transporting these machines to the tunnel. On Tuesday, the Air Force airlifted various modern mechanical equipment and 24 special spiral welded pipes weighing 18 tonnes from Rourkela and Bangalore.
