The poster depicts railway tracks and oncoming trains, hinting at the deeper plot of the period drama. Along with this the director wrote, 'The train journey has begun'.

The shooting of the film began after a puja ceremony, which was attended by Nadigar Sangam president Nassar along with filmmaker Vetrimaaran and actor Vijay Sethupathi. Fauzia Fatima will be the cinematographer of 'Train' and Mr. Watson will serve as the editor of Train. Apart from directing, Mysskin will also handle the music.
