Cold wave will continue for the next three days: Meteorological Department
According to the Meteorological Department, for the next three days from January 5 to 7, an outbreak of cold wave may continue in some areas of the capital. During this time the minimum temperature can be recorded at around 4 degrees. Fog will also disturb along with the cold wave. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for fog and cold waves between January 5 and 7.
According to the news agency ANI, due to dense fog and cold waves in Bathinda city of Punjab, people are facing a lot of trouble. A resident of Bathinda said, there is a lot of fog in Bathinda. People are facing a lot of difficulty in commuting.
Shelter homes built for homeless people
Due to the increasing cold wave in the national capital, a shelter home has been constructed for homeless people near Rai Kale Khan railway station. Vipin Rai, a member of, the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board, said, “We have 197 permanent shelter homes. During winter, we put up around 250 tents in Delhi. Now we have 190 functional tents and 50 are in standby mode. Apart from mattresses and blankets, we also provide 3 meals a day to the occupants.

A senior Met department official said cold wave and cold day conditions are likely to continue for the next 24 to 48 hours. After this, there will be some improvement under the influence of a new Western Disturbance. The yellow alert is also going on for this purpose.
Skymet Weather's Vice President (Meteorology and Climate Change) Mahesh Palawat told that the snowfall that has occurred in the mountains till the new year, through the northwest winds, is making Delhi cold.
