Russian President Vladimir Putin will not attend the funeral of Mikhail Gorbachev, the last President of the Soviet Union. According to the CNN report, spokesman Dmitry Peskov told that Putin will not attend Gorbachev's farewell ceremony on September 3 due to some urgent program. Meanwhile today the Russian President visited the Central Clinical Hospital to pay tribute to Gorbachev. Please tell that Gorbachev will not be cremated with full state honors.

A farewell ceremony for Gorbachev is scheduled to take place on Saturday, which the general public will also be allowed to attend. He will then be cremated on the same day at the Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow. Significantly, Gorbachev died on Tuesday at 91 pm after a prolonged illness.
