Weather Update: After three days of scorching heat in Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, UP, relief will be available from May 2

The Meteorological Department said on Friday that from April 29 to May 1, there will be severe heat in western Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, western UP, MP, and Jharkhand. The department has issued a yellow alert for these states. From May 2, due to western disturbances, there may be relief due to storms and rain.

 

IMD meteorologist RK Jenamani told on Friday that severe heat is being felt today, it will remain like this for the next 24 to 48 hours. After that, the temperature will drop. He said that there is a possibility of rain and thundershowers in Rajasthan, Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana from May 2 to 4. During this, the mercury can fall between 36 and 39 degrees Celsius.

 

 

About 80 percent of the population of about 70 percent of the country is getting scorched by the scorching heat. In the coming time, the heat and trouble will increase. The temperature in May can reach up to 48 degrees. Along with this, an alert has been issued for 10 states Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Jharkhand.

 

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), India is going through a severe period of summer. IMD scientist RK Jenamani said that in some parts of UP, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, and Odisha, the temperature has reached more than 45 degrees. Heatwave conditions will prevail over large parts of the country for the next five days.

 

The IMD said that the situation is expected to remain serious till the first week of May. However, after this, rain is expected from the second week, due to which people can get relief from the heat and heatwave.

 

In Jhansi, where the maximum temperature did not cross 45 in the last 10 years, the day temperature was recorded at 45.6 degrees on 27 and 28 April. The highest temperature recorded here was 46.2 degrees on 17 April 2010. In Kanpur, the mercury reached 45.8 degrees on Thursday. The maximum mercury was recorded here nine years ago on 30 April 2013. The mercury in Prayagraj was recorded at 45.9 degrees.

 

Relief expected: Rain is possible from the second week of May

 

The IMD said that the situation is expected to remain serious till the first week of May. However, after this, rain is expected from the second week, due to which people can get relief from the heat and heatwave.

 

The department has issued an orange alert for Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra for the next four days.

 

Delhi @ 43.5 degree: 12 year record broken

 

Delhi's maximum temperature was 43.5 degrees on Wednesday. This is the highest in 12 years. Earlier on April 18, 2010, it was 43.7 degrees. The maximum temperature can reach 44 degrees on Friday.

 

A dust storm can also occur at a speed of 50 kmph. Relief from drizzle is expected.

 

March hottest in 122 years

 

According to the Meteorological Department, March this year was the hottest in 122 years. There was 71% less rain during this period. Wheat yields declined by up to 35%.

CBSE Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj said the board has paid Rs 5,000 per day and Rs 5 per candidate to the examination centers to protect against Covid.

 

Two rupees for drinking water: Bharadwaj informed that it has also been decided to pay two rupees per candidate per day for drinking water. There should be up to 18 students in a class. Apart from this, there will be a separate class arrangement for infected students.
