Delhi Police carried out 'Operation Mid Night' in a very secretive manner to find the roots of the Popular Front of India (PFI), which has become a threat to the unity and harmony of the country. This action was taken in those six districts of Delhi, where PFI had strengthened its roots.
Police of all districts remained alert overnight
However, the police of all the districts of Delhi were keeping an eye on this action at all times. Not only this but a large number of additional police forces were also deployed in sensitive areas so that every attempt to spread violence could be thwarted.
On September 22, the ED arrested PFI's Delhi state president Mohammad Parvez Ahmed, general secretary Ilyas Ahmed, and office secretary Abdul Muqeet. All three were arrested from their homes in Abul Fazal Enclave. According to sources, after interrogating them, the investigating agencies came to know that the PFI is trying to throw the capital into the fire of violence.
The Ministry of Home Affairs had an eye, the Commissioner of Police himself took over the command
This was the biggest ever action against any organization in Delhi. In such a situation, the Ministry of Home Affairs and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval was keeping an eye on Operation Midnight. The operation was commanded by Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora himself.
Moment-to-moment reports were being given to the Ministry of Home Affairs
In sensitive areas like Shaheenbagh, Jamianagar, and North East Delhi, he was taking reports of the moment from the officials and giving them to the Ministry of Home Affairs. Therefore, the Special Cell of Delhi Police, along with the District Police and other units, took possession of all the areas on Monday at 1.30 pm, and then this action continued till 5 am.
Action on 30 detained members
Detained 30 PFI members from six districts of Delhi. According to Gaya headquarters sources, the Special Cell handed over all these to the local police station, against whom action has been taken under the section for breach of peace.
