YS Sharmila is the daughter of YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Rajasekhar was the CM of United Andhra Pradesh from 2004 to 2009 on behalf of the Congress. He died in a helicopter crash. After Rajasekhar's death, the tussle between his son Jagan Mohan Reddy and the Congress increased. Because of this, Jagan Mohan Reddy formed a separate party named YSR Congress. Jagan Mohan Reddy is the current CM of Andhra Pradesh.
