A picture became quite viral after Rishi Sunak became the Prime Minister of Britain. This picture is of the prestigious Vidyarthi Bhavan in Bangalore, where he is having masala dosa. When Sunak was Britain's finance minister, he visited his wife Akshata Murthy's hometown in 2019. During this, he also tasted the cuisine of this 80-year-old restaurant.

After this photo of Rishi Sunak, the discussion about the great Prime Minister of Britain, Winston Churchill, has also intensified. About 120 years ago, Churchill lived in Bangalore only. During this time he was residing in the Military Cantonment in Bangalore as a young British military officer.

Churchill tasted dosa and copy

According to the famous Kannada writer DV Gundappa, who was a contemporary of Churchill, Churchill had tasted the masala dosa and copy here during his stay. Although this is not confirmed, it is said that if Churchill wanted to eat masala dosa, he must have gone to the old town of Chickpete, where he used to get the best masala dosa in Bangalore.

Why Churchill owes Rs 13

Allegedly, Churchill was a member of a club in Bengaluru located near the Victoria Hotel in Bangalore. He often used to come here to drink and have food. It was a club of white people. It is said that when Churchill went back to England, he was owed 13 rupees by the club. At that time this amount was huge. Churchill is still one of the club's defaulters. Now that Rishi Sunak has become the Prime Minister of Britain, it is being said that it is not known whether Sunak will settle the debt of Churchill when his in-laws visit in the future.
