China's Long March 5B rocket hits Earth. The rocket burned up as soon as it entered the Earth's atmosphere. But on the intervening night of July 30-31, some fragments of the rocket fell on the earth. This 25-ton rocket took off on July 24 with a module to complete China's unfinished Tiangong space station. Since its launch, scientists were worried that this rocket might fall to Earth from space.

People said that a bright light appeared in the sky. The sky was filled with red, blue, and yellow lights. One user wrote – It seemed that someone filled the black canvas with colors. China's space agency said that most parts of the Long March 5 rocket burned up in the atmosphere. The Chinese government had said that the rocket's return to Earth would pose no danger to anyone as it was more likely to fall into the sea.

What is the danger of rocket debris?

According to The Aerospace Corporation, debris that does not burn in the Earth's atmosphere can fall into populated areas. But, the chances of harming anyone with this debris are very less.

According to a report released in 2019 by America's Orbital Doberies Mitigation Standard Practices, the chance of a casualty if a rocket re-enters Earth uncontrollably is one in 10,000.
