Remove barricades on the borders of Delhi

The barricade installed at the Tikri border to prevent farmers from marching to Delhi has been removed. While late Saturday night, barricades were removed from one lane going from Delhi to Haryana, on Sunday, barricades were removed from one lane on both sides. Since then the movement of vehicles has started. At the same time, the work of opening service lanes on both sides is going on at the Singhu border.

Police officials said that the work of removing the barricades on the Tikri border started at 4 pm on Saturday. The police first removed the blockage created by containers, trucks, and old vehicles kept in one lane. After that, the police started the work of removing the jersey barrier with the help of a crane. Also, the barbed wire was removed. After that, the work of removing the concrete wall in the Jersey barrier was started.

The police officer said that all the barricades placed on the road in one lane were removed late on Saturday night. Due to this the movement of vehicles going from Delhi to Haryana started. After that, the work of removing the barricade from the route coming from Haryana to Delhi was started. All the barricades were removed from this route also on Sunday morning. After that, vehicular movement started on both routes.

The work of removing barricades from the service lanes on both sides of the Singhu border was started on Saturday evening itself. Containers, trucks, old vehicles, barbed wire, and other barricades installed on the service lane going from Haryana to Delhi and from Delhi to Haryana were removed. At present, the work of removing the jersey barriers installed on both the service lanes and the concrete wall built on the road is still pending.

The work of removing it is continuing. It takes a lot of effort to remove the concrete wall. Due to the barricade not being completely removed, both routes are currently closed for vehicular movement. The police officer says that vehicular movement will start only after the concrete wall is removed from both service lanes.
