Xi Jinping: Chinese President Xi Jinping met the King and Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, and several agreements were signed

Chinese President Xi Jinping met with King Salman and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia on Thursday. Xi Jinping arrived at Al Yamama Palace in Riyadh where he was received by King Salman and his son Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Saudi state media released a video of Xi and the crown prince meeting at the palace.

 

Several agreements were signed in both countries

Another video showed Xi later talking to 86-year-old King Salman and signing a document with him. Saudi officials later said several agreements were signed in the two countries, including agreements with Chinese technology company Huawei on cloud computing, data centers, and other high-tech ventures.

 

America commented on this meeting

The US has already warned its Arab allies about working with Huawei over espionage concerns. America is also keeping a close watch on this visit. The White House said Xi's visit was an example of the US trying to influence the Middle East.

 

The official Xinhua news agency reported that Xi and King Salman also agreed to hold a meeting between the leaders of the two countries every two years. Russia's war on Ukraine - and the West's tough stance on Moscow - have strengthened ties with the Arab country China. are trying to Saudi is looking to increase oil exports with China.

 

Biden met Salman a few months ago

Explain that in July, US President Joe Biden visited Saudi Arabia, where he raised the issue of the 2018 murder of Jamal Khashoggi during a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Biden said he believed the Saudi leader was responsible for Jamal Khashoggi's death.

 

US relations with China have been strained not only with Saudi Arabia. China and Saudi Arabia have also taken different positions in the West regarding the Ukraine war. Both have refrained from endorsing sanctions on Russia, and Saudi Arabia has repeatedly said Russia is a major energy-producing partner that should be consulted on OPEC+ decisions, reports CNN.
