MLA reached Raj Bhavan with Swami Prasad's resignation
Swami Prasad has mailed his resignation and Shahjahanpur MLA Roshanlal Verma reached Raj Bhavan with its hard copy. In his letter, he has cited the neglectful attitude of the government towards the backward, farmers, unemployed, youth, and small, small, and medium businessmen as the reason for his resignation.

But I resign from the cabinet of Uttar Pradesh due to the gross neglectful attitude of Dalits, backward farmers, unemployed youth, and small-small and medium-scale traders.
Keshav said – hasty decisions are often wrong
Deputy CM Keshav Maurya has termed Swami Prasad's resignation as a hasty decision. He wrote, 'I don't know for what reasons respected Swami Prasad Maurya Ji has resigned, I appeal to him to sit and talk. Hasty decisions often turn out to be wrong.
Swami Prasad joined BJP on 21st September 2016.
On 22 June 2016, Swami Prasad Maurya left the BSP by announcing in front of the media in the assembly room in the scorching afternoon.
