Zydus Cadila: The company will do scratch coding on the packaging of medicines, which will help to stop the sale of counterfeit medicines

The distribution of counterfeit drugs has always been a concern. This not only causes loss of life and property to the patients but also jeopardizes the credibility of the pharmaceutical companies and they also have to bear the financial loss. In the Corona era, there has also been a case of selling drugs like Remdcivir counterfeit. However, to stop the sale of counterfeit drugs in the market now, drug manufacturer Zydes Cadila has taken an important step. The company said in a statement on Friday (May 28) that it will henceforth scratch coding on the packaging of its important medicines to let people know whether the drug is genuine or fake.

 

 

The feature will be launched in the third week of June

The company said in a statement that initially the scratch coding feature would be used in Remdac (Remedisvir) and Virafin injection (Pegylated Interferon Alpha 2B). This feature will be revealed to the public in the third week of June. After this, the feature will be expanded to other products of the company as well.

 

 

Code can also be verified through an app or website

The company said that by scratching this scratch code, patients can detect whether the drug is real or fake. The code can also be verified through the app or website. This feature will ensure that standardized and quality secure products reach the end-user.

 

1,400 scientists working in Cadila's Research Department

Cadila Healthcare Managing Director Sharvil Patel said that the company has used this feature to stop the sale of harmful and deadly counterfeit drugs, which will assure the patient that the product is genuine and safe. Let us tell you that Cadila Healthcare is a unit of Zydus Cadila Group based in Ahmedabad, which employs about 25 thousand people worldwide. Currently, 1,400 scientists are working in its Research and Development Department.
