Sikh for Justice (SFJ) terrorist Jaswinder Singh Multani has been arrested from Germany in connection with the Ludhiana blasts. Multani was apprehended by federal police from Erfurt in central Germany. Multani's name has cropped up in the initial investigation of the Ludhiana bomb blast.
He had planned the Ludhiana bomb blasts through Pak intelligence agency ISI and Pakistan-based gangster Harvinder Singh Rinda. Indian investigative agencies may soon go to Germany to interrogate Multani. Punjab Police's sacked head constable Gagandeep Singh was made a vehicle for the Ludhiana blast.
A preliminary investigation also revealed that Multani was plotting blasts in Delhi and Mumbai as well. After this, he was arrested on the appeal of the Central Government. Apart from being pro-Khalistan, Multani is also accused of smuggling arms and drugs from the Punjab border to India through Pakistan.
Multani and Rinda had hatched a conspiracy
In the initial investigation of the blast in the Ludhiana Court Complex, the Central and Punjab agencies had come to know that Multani and Rinda had hatched the conspiracy. Through this, Punjab was to be destabilized before the elections. Multani is a resident of village Mansoorpur in Hoshiarpur district in Punjab. Multani was smuggling arms and drugs into India through his network in Pakistan through Punjab. Behind the arms, smuggling was a conspiracy to bomb blasts in India.
Rinda is a gangster of the A+ category. Apart from Punjab, it is also wanted in Maharashtra, Chandigarh, Haryana, and West Bengal. He has 10 murders, 6 attempt to murder, and 7 dacoities besides 30 cases of heinous crimes including Arms Act, ransom, drug smuggling registered against him. Rinda had escaped from the hands of the police in 2017, after which it was learned that he had gone to Pakistan.
Multani was seen after Khalistan support campaign
Multani is associated with the banned organization Sikh for Justice. He has close ties with US-based SFJ chief Avtar Singh Pannu and Harpreet Singh Rana. All these are working on the agenda of creating Khalistan through Sikh Referendum 2020. Multani had recently helped in the Khalistani campaign of SJF, after which he came under the attention of the investigating agencies.
Trying to target the farmer leader too
The investigation also revealed that Multani had also hatched a conspiracy to attack farmer leader Balbir Rajewal to disturb the farmers' movement. In this case, the police had arrested 5 people in February. One of them, Jeevan Singh, was involved in separatist activities by Multani. Multani contacted Jeevan on social media and entrusted the task of targeting farmer leader Balbir Singh Rajewal.
For this, Multani also provided funds to Jeevan Singh, so that he could purchase weapons. Multani was angry with Rajewal for speaking against the Khalistani forces. Through this, he wanted to disturb the ongoing movement against agricultural laws.
Internet call of dongle uncovered the secret of the conspiracy
A dongle was recovered by the investigating agencies from Gagandeep Singh, who had blasted the Ludhiana court. When he was investigated, it was found that 13 internet calls were made from him. The calls were made to numbers in Dubai, Malaysia, and Pakistan. After this, it came to know that the drug smugglers and gangsters sitting in Pakistan had hatched a complete conspiracy for the Ludhiana blast. In this, the jailed smugglers played the role of mediation.
Gagandeep's anger was made a weapon
The Special Task Force of Punjab had registered a case of seizure of heroin against Gagandeep Singh, who carried out the blast at the Ludhiana Court Complex. Then he was a scribe in the police station. He did not get bail from the court for 2 years. He remained in jail. After which his anger towards the judiciary arose. When the comrades of the terrorists sitting in the jail came to know about this, they made Gagandeep's anger their weapon.
After this, he was contacted by drug smugglers and gangsters sitting in Pakistan. The link later joined with the terrorists. Gagandeep wanted to blow up the record room of the court in Ludhiana so that all the records would be destroyed and the ongoing case against him would get loose. However, through this, he got involved with the terrorists and hatched a conspiracy to destabilize Punjab before the elections.
