Singer and rapper Badshah has been embroiled in controversy since the release of his latest song, "Tateeree." The song has drawn criticism for its allegedly offensive lyrics and scenes, and the backlash on social media is growing.

Now, singer Sona Mohapatra has joined in. She sharply criticized the rapper, saying he needs to improve his work and be more responsible with his content.

Calling him "Haryana ka beta" (son of Haryana) won't do anything - Sona.

Sona Mohapatra reprimanded Badshah, saying that calling himself "Haryana ka beta" (son of Haryana) doesn't make his mistakes go away. In her lengthy note, she wrote, "This isn't the first time. We've seen similar incidents before." Sona wrote, "Often, a man, through these actions, merely becomes an object of attraction to women and tries to portray himself as a hero, as if women will simply fall for his actions."

She further added, "Showing off-the-wall and false swag is not creativity." Sona took a dig at the use of vulgar language in rap. Showing off outdated and false swag like "Tu mujhpe marti hai, mujhpe jaan prchikti hai" is not creativity. It's the laziest and most cumbersome form of pop culture.

The song was released in March.

Badshah has been embroiled in controversy over the release of his new song "Tettiri." Earlier this month, Haryana Police announced that they had filed an FIR against the singer and initiated the process of issuing a lookout notice. The song allegedly depicts girls in school uniforms dancing and making objectionable gestures on a Haryana Roadways bus. The song was released on March 1, 2026. After this the king also apologized for this.
