Thousands of Amritpal's supporters attacked the Ajnala police station with swords and guns on Thursday after Amritpal Singh, head of the Sikh organization Waris Punjab De, threatened the Ajnala police. Amritpal's supporters broke the police barricades. During this, Amritpal's supporters also thrashed some policemen badly. Some vehicles have also been broken by the people involved in the crowd. As soon as the mob attacked the police nakas, the police personnel posted there retreated.

After this Amritpal and his supporters reached just outside the police station while marching and Amritpal's supporters started picketing outside the police station. Amritpal has given an ultimatum of one hour to the government. Police officials are holding talks with Amritpal's supporters but no agreement has been reached so far. Amritpal and his supporters are adamant on only one thing: that the FIR lodged against him should be quashed and the two men caught by him should be released immediately.

Amritpal Singh said that the FIR was lodged only with a political motive. If they don't cancel the case in one hour then the administration will be responsible for whatever happens next. They think we can't do anything. That's why this show of strength was necessary.

Some supporters of Amritpal Singh reached outside Ajnala police station in the morning where the police force already deployed took them into custody. Later, when the SSP of Amritsar Dehat reached the spot, the detained youths were released. An atmosphere of tension prevailed in Ajnala and its surrounding areas. Amritpal Singh had warned that if the FIR filed against him and his associates was not canceled by Wednesday evening, he along with his supporters would reach to lay siege to Ajnala police station.
