In many states including Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand, the mercury is continuously falling. Let us tell you that due to western disturbance in the mountains of Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, there has been continuous snowfall and rain for the last several days.

 

According to the India Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of snowfall along with rain in the mountains of Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand for the next few days. Meanwhile, there may be a change in the weather pattern in the next three-four days amid the possibility of a Western Disturbance moving beyond North Pakistan and its adjoining areas.

 

At the same time, the effect of the icy winds blowing in the hilly areas is also clearly visible on the plains. Day and night temperatures are rapidly falling in the plains. The effect of cold is slowly starting to appear in Delhi-NCR. However, it is still not as cold as it usually is in December.

 

Increasing cold on the plains and mountains

According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), the people of Delhi will have to wait for the bitter cold. Meanwhile, there is a possibility of fog in the plains in the morning and evening and morning frost in the mountains. In many places, the fog has already started falling. Due to fog in many areas in the morning, visibility becomes very low. Due to this traffic is getting affected a lot. Long-distance trains are also being hit the most by the fog. Trains are also getting delayed due to fog. Due to this, the passengers are facing problems.

 

Where the cold is continuously increasing in North India, on the other hand, there is a forecast of rain in the states of South India even today.

 

According to private weather forecasting agency Skymet Weather, a fresh Western Disturbance may bring light to moderate rain and snow over Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, Jammu Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand between today and December 11. On the other hand, there are chances of light to heavy in many areas including Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

 

Red alert in 3 districts of Tamil Nadu

Explain that the IMD has issued a red alert for Chengalpattu, Villupuram, and Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu due to cyclonic storm Mandus. According to IMD, Cyclone Mandus is likely to cause light to moderate rainfall at most places, very heavy rainfall at a few places, and extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places over north coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and adjoining north interior Tamil Nadu But there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall.

 

There will be heavy rain in these areas

According to Regional Meteorological Center Chennai, moderate rain is likely at many places over Villupuram, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Thoothukudi, Thirunelveli, and Kanyakumari Puducherry and Karaikal region during next 3 hours.

The havoc of cold is continuously increasing in the national capital Delhi. Dense fog enveloped Delhi on Friday morning. On Thursday, the minimum temperature of the city had recorded as a drop of one degree Celsius. According to weather analysts, this situation will continue in Delhi for at least one more week.

 

There was no major change due to the weakening of Western Disturbance

Earlier, weather analysts had predicted a moderate Western Disturbance over the Himalayas, leading to snowfall in the higher peaks of the mountains. This snowfall was going to have a direct impact on the maximum and minimum temperature in Delhi around 10 December. However, regarding this, the officials have now said that there has been no major significant change in the temperature due to the weakening of the Western Disturbance again.
