Indian women's cricket team coach Amol Majumdar wished Pakistan the best of luck ahead of their Women's T20 World Cup 2024 match against New Zealand on Monday. India is on the verge of elimination after losing to Australia on Sunday. However, they can still make it to the semi-finals, but Pakistan will have to register a win over New Zealand.

 

India would want Pakistan to beat New Zealand to reach the last four of the tournament. This fact was mentioned by a journalist to Indian coach Amol Majumdar during a press conference. Majumdar smiled and said that he would like to wish Pakistan the best of luck in the match. The Indian coach also said that the Indian team would be watching the match closely. He said, 'This is a good question. I want to wish Pakistan the best of luck. That's all I can say. But we will be watching the match closely, that's for sure.'

There were many turning points in the India-Australia match. Team India dropped a few catches and Shreyanka Patil's last two overs conceded 14 and 12 runs. However, the Indian coach said that he did not want to point to any particular moment as the turning point, and in the end, it was a collective effort. India ended the group stage with four points from four matches.

 

Australia won the match by nine runs.

 

Australia's women's team secured its place in the semi-finals by winning by nine runs against India on Sunday. It became the first team to reach the semi-finals from Group A. At the same time, this defeat has made India's path difficult. Before this match, India's net run rate was +0.576. Now it has remained only +0.322. At the same time, Australia is at the top of the points table with eight points and a net run rate of +2.223. New Zealand's team is in third place whose net run rate is +0.282.
