RR vs DC: Kyle Jamieson Pays a Heavy Price for Showing Attitude to Vaibhav Suryavanshi; Delhi Bowler Reprimanded

Posted on 2nd May 2026 01:32 pm by rohit kumar

In the current cricketing landscape, taking Vaibhav Suryavanshi's wicket has become a monumental feat. In the IPL, this batsman has been making even the world's most formidable bowlers bite the dust. Consequently, whenever someone manages to claim his wicket, their joy knows no bounds. In the throes of such elation, bowlers occasionally do something that ends up costing them dearly. Something very similar has happened to Delhi Capitals' Kyle Jamieson.

The Delhi Capitals faced the Rajasthan Royals on Friday at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, the Royals' home ground. Rajasthan batted first in this match, and Kyle Jamieson clean-bowled Vaibhav when the batsman was on a personal score of just four runs. However, Jamieson subsequently received a reprimand for his actions following the dismissal.

A Demerit Point Incurred

Jamieson dismissed Vaibhav on the fifth delivery of the second over. Following the wicket, Jamieson punched the air and let out loud shouts of celebration. He also directed an aggressive glare at Vaibhav. It was for this conduct that the IPL issued a rebuke against him. In a released statement, the IPL declared that Jamieson had violated the regulations through his celebratory actions.

The statement reads: "Delhi Capitals bowler Jamieson has incurred one demerit point and has been found guilty of a Level 1 offense under the IPL Code of Conduct. Jamieson violated Article 2.5 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which pertains to the use of language, actions, or gestures that could provoke an aggressive reaction from other players during a match."

Jamieson admitted to the transgression and accepted the penalty imposed upon him by Match Referee Rajiv Seth.
