Ajinkya Rahane: IPL 2023 Experienced players are doing wonders this season, not youth, from Ajinkya Rahane to Amit Mishra

IPL 2023 has crossed its half stage. Almost seven league matches have been played for all the teams and now the playoff race is getting tougher in the points table as well. Young players often do wonders in IPL and many players have made a place in Team India through this tournament. From Hardik Pandya to Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant, many players came to the Indian team through IPL and have cemented their place. However, many senior players have also made a comeback in the Indian team through IPL. Ashish Nehra, the current coach of Gujarat Titans, also made a comeback to the Indian team through the IPL and also played in the T20 World Cup. Many senior players have made a strong comeback in IPL 2023 as well. It was believed that the career of these players is over, but these players have grandly redeemed the last opportunity. Here we are telling about five such players.

Ajinkya Rahane

After being dropped from the Indian Test team, Rahane's career was almost considered over. He was already dropped from the country's ODI and T20 teams after being labeled a Test specialist, but when he failed in the longest format of cricket, his career was almost considered over. He had a chance to make a comeback through Ranji and did well, but due to Shreyas' excellent form, Rahane's place in the team was not being made. Rahane was also dropped from the Kolkata team after a poor performance in IPL 2022. Only Chennai placed bets on him in the mini-auction and bought him for 50 lakhs. Shreyas got injured before IPL 2023 and Rahane did wonders for Chennai. So far, he has scored 209 runs in five innings at an average of 52.25 and a strike rate of 199.05. His best score has been 71 not out.

Amit Mishra

Amit Mishra, 40, last played for India in 2017. Since then he is out of Team India. His performance in IPL was also nothing special. In such a situation, when the Lucknow team bet on him, everyone was surprised. After this, when Amit Mishra got a chance to play, he did wonders. Mishra has so far taken four wickets for Lucknow in four matches. He has an average of 15.25 and an economy rate of 6.50. He is not making a comeback in Team India but is showing his fire in IPL.

Ishant Sharma

The story of Indian fast bowler Ishant Sharma is also not much different from that of Amit Mishra. He was already dropped from India's T20 and ODI squads due to poor economy rate but retained his place in the Test team. When Siraj performed well, he was out of the playing 11 even after being in the team. Ishant Sharma, 34, remained the fourth fast bowler in India's Test team, but his career in T20 was considered over, but the Delhi team reposed faith in him and Ishant has lived up to it so far. He has taken three wickets in two matches for Delhi. He averages 12.33 and an economy rate of 5.28.

Piyush Chawla

One of the most successful bowlers in IPL history, Piyush Chawla's career was also considered to be over. Chawla could not do much after being dropped from the Kolkata team, but Mumbai Indians reposed faith in him. Now Chawla is the highest wicket-taker for Mumbai this season. He has taken nine wickets in six matches. He averages 17.56 and has been very frugal in scoring runs.

Mohit Sharma

Mohit Sharma, who played in the 2015 World Cup for India, joined the Indian team after bowling brilliantly for Chennai Super Kings. He played 26 ODIs and eight T20 matches for India. During this his performance was good. His slow delivery was difficult for the batsmen to understand, but his pace declined over time and he was dropped from the Indian team. His IPL career also came to an end. In the year 2022, he was the net bowler of the Gujarat team. This season Gujarat surprised everyone by buying him. Whereas, when Mohit played, he surprised everyone with his bowling. Mohit has taken four wickets in three matches this season. His economy rate is also less than six and the average is also 10.50.
