The Delhi Police has sought the response of the Delhi Police while hearing the case of violent demonstration and vandalism outside the house of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The court has also ordered the Delhi Police to submit the status report in a sealed cover within two weeks.
Along with this, the High Court has also asked the Delhi Police to preserve the CCTV footage of the entire incident. The order was passed by a bench of Acting Chief Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Navin Chawla after it was informed that the responsibility of the Chief Minister's security rests with the Delhi Police which has taken suo motu cognizance of the case and arrested eight people.
The High Court was hearing a petition filed by AAP MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj, during which it was ordered, which has demanded that an SIT should be constituted to investigate the attack on the CM's residence.

ASG opposed the issuance of notice
SG Sanjay Jain, appearing in the court on behalf of Delhi Police, opposed the notice issued by the court saying that this petition itself has been filed on the wrong assumption that no FIR has been registered in the incident. He has assured the court that a meeting has been held between the Ministry of Home Affairs and Delhi Police in this regard and there will be a talk with the Secretary of the CM regarding the danger.
Court set aside the arguments of ASG
However, the court said on this that the issue here is not about the setting up of SIT. It belongs to a person associated with a constitutional post, so every detail of the incident must be known. Heard the bench say, we have seen the video. There the crowd was uncontrollable. People broke the boom barrier and some were even trying to climb the gate. He tried to take the law into his own hands. We found that the police force present there was inadequate and very few. So you have to tell me what was your settlement. What information did you have about this incident? We have to see all this.
