In West Bengal, there is a tussle between Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar and TMC MP Mahua Moitra. West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Monday said that Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra's allegations of appointing her family members and acquaintances to the OSD posts at Raj Bhavan are factually incorrect.
Jagdeep Dhankhar termed them as a trick to divert attention from the dangerous law and order situation in the state. He said those on special duty were not close to his family.
Dhankhar tweeted, "Mahua Moitra's tweet and media mentioning six OCD officers as my relatives are factually incorrect. These OCDs belong to three different states and four different castes. None of them are part of a close family. Four of them are not from my caste or state."
He said this exposes Mamata Banerjee's tactics to divert attention from the dangerous law and order situation in the state. The Governor said that he would continue to serve the people of the State and uphold my oath of office under Article 159 of the Constitution.
Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra on Sunday called West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar 'Uncle ji' and claimed that his family members and other acquaintances have been appointed as Officers on Special Duty (OSD) at the Raj Bhavan.
Moitra shared a list on Twitter, which names Governor's OSD Abhyuday Shekhawat, OSD-Coordination Akhil Choudhary, OSD-Administration Ruchi Dubey, OSD-Protocol Prashant Dixit, OSD-IT Kaustav S Valikar, and newly-appointed OSD Kishan Dhankhar.
The Trinamool Congress MP also said that Shekhawat Dhankhar's brother-in-law, Ruchi Dubey, is the wife of his former ADC Major Gorang Dixit and Prashant Dixit's brother. Moitra said that Valikar is the brother-in-law of Dhankhar's current ADC Janardhan Rao while Kishan Dhankhar is another close relative of the governor.
