Today is considered to be a very important day in the politics of Maharashtra. After a long time, Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray finally came together. Both cousins shared the stage together and also hugged each other.
Both the brothers shared the stage to celebrate Marathi Vijay Diwas in Worli, Mumbai. However, political pundits are calling this meeting a sign of a big change in the politics of Maharashtra.
Raj Thackeray arrived for this meeting with his wife Sharmila and son Amit Thackeray and daughter Urvashi. Uddhav Thackeray also arrived with his family, which included his wife Rashmi and sons Aditya and Tejas.
During this, Raj Thackeray said, "I had said in one of my interviews that my Maharashtra is bigger than any politics and fight. Today, after 20 years, I and Uddhav have come together, what Balasaheb could not do, Devendra Fadnavis did. The work of bringing both of us together." Raj Thackeray said, "Minister Dada Bhuse came to me and requested me to listen to him. I told him I will listen to you, but I will not agree. I asked him what the third language is for Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Rajasthan. All Hindi-speaking states are behind us, and we are ahead of all Hindi-speaking states, yet we are being forced to learn Hindi. Why?"
Raj Thackeray said, "I have no complaint with Hindi, no language is bad. It takes a lot of hard work to build a language. During the Maratha Empire, we Marathi people ruled many states, but we never imposed Marathi on those parts. They started the experiment of imposing Hindi on us and tried to test whether, if we do not oppose it, they will separate Mumbai from Maharashtra."
He said, "They say our children have studied in English medium schools. So what? Dada Bhuse studied in Marathi schools and became a minister. Devendra Fadnavis studied in an English-medium school and became the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. So what?"
Raj Thackeray said, "Let me tell you that I have studied in a Marathi school, but my father Shrikant Thackeray and uncle Balasaheb Thackeray studied in an English medium school. Can anyone question their love for Marathi? Tomorrow I will also learn Hebrew. Will anyone question my Marathi pride?"
Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray said, "We have come together to stay together." Let us tell you, after the Maharashtra government scrapped two government proposals to implement Hindi as the third language, the Uddhav Thackeray faction (UBT) and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) held a joint rally at Worli Dome in Mumbai.
Uddhav Thackeray said, "You have already used us enough. If you had not had the support of Balasaheb Thackeray, who would have known you in Maharashtra. Who are you to teach us about Hindutva? When riots were happening in Mumbai, we Marathi people saved every Hindu of Maharashtra, no matter who he was. If you are calling Marathi people 'goondas' who are protesting, demanding justice, then yes, we are 'goondas'.
