Concerned about monkeypox among Kovid, said - if another disease spreads, the danger will increase

So far only 4 cases of monkeypox have been reported in India, but experts are expressing concern about the situation. Those showing symptoms have been advised to get tested. At the same time, the government has also issued advisory for international travelers. At present, three patients with monkeypox have been found in Kerala and one in the capital Delhi. Apart from this, a suspected patient has also been admitted to the hospital in NCR.

 

Medanta's chairman Dr. Naresh Trehan has described monkeypox as a threat. He said, 'It is a matter of concern. We are already facing covid and if some other disease spreads in the country, the danger will increase. Those who are showing symptoms should get tested and people should be alert.

 

The special thing is that the World Health Organization has also described monkeypox disease as a health emergency. The organization informed on Saturday that so far more than 16 thousand cases have been found in 75 countries and 5 patients have died due to the disease. Apart from Delhi and Kerala, suspected patients of monkeypox have been found in Patna in Bihar and Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh.

A person has been admitted to LNJP Hospital in Delhi on suspicion of being infected with monkeypox. Sources gave this information on Tuesday. He said that the age of the person is between 30 and 40 years. He is not among the people who came in contact with a person found infected with monkeypox in the national capital. He has a history of foreign travel. Sources said rashes and wounds were found on the patient's body. His samples have been sent to the National Institute of Virology, Pune.

 

Serum Institute talks on for vaccine

 

The Serum Institute of India (SII) is in talks with Danish firm Bavarian Nordic to import some consignments of vaccines to combat monkeypox cases in the country. SII Chief Executive Officer Adar Poonawalla said this on Tuesday. Poonawalla said in an interview with a channel that in the event of an agreement, it would take two to three months to import the vaccines into the country.
