A horrific case of alleged gang rape has come to light with a minor girl in Kondagaon district of Chhattisgarh. About three months before the girl was gang-raped by seven youths, after which the police registered a case when the father attempted suicide by consuming poison. The minor girl committed suicide after gang rape. Police have taken out the body of the woman from the tomb to investigate the matter. The youth had taken the woman from the wedding ceremony to the forest and gang-raped her.

The victim's family alleges that the girl was gang-raped on July 19 by seven youths. The next day the woman committed suicide. Family members buried the woman's body away from the village. The girl's uncle said that he had tried to register a complaint only after the gang rape, but the police did not register a case. However, the police rejected the claims of the victim's family. The police officer claimed that he came to know about the incident after the news was published in the local media on Wednesday.

Bastar area Inspector General of Police (IG) Sundararaj P. said that police had received information that a girl committed suicide after gang rape in the Dhanora police station area of Kondagaon district a few months ago. After the information, the Superintendent of Police and other officers of the district reached there on Wednesday.

The victim went to the wedding ceremony

According to the complaint lodged by the family, on July 19, the 17-year-old victim went to a wedding ceremony with her family in nearby Kanagaon. At around 11 in the night, two young men from Kanagaon took the young woman with them to the nearby forest and raped the other five youths there. The police officer said, "The next morning the victim returned home without telling anyone and committed suicide by hanging herself on the noose." He further said that the family was not aware of the rape incident and buried the girl's body on the outskirts of the village. Police have taken out the body for postmortem after the case came to light.

Police arrested three accused

While investigating the case, the police have arrested three accused. At the same time, the victim's uncle told reporters that after committing suicide, two local boys informed him that the girl had been gang-raped. Two days later, the SHO of Dhanora police station called him and asked why a complaint was not lodged in the case. He said that the SHO had assured to take action, but no action was taken later. Inspector-General of Police Sunderraj said that after the girl's suicide, the police team had gone to the village but the family members had said that they would file a complaint later. At the same time, recently the victim's father attempted suicide by consuming poison, but was saved after treatment. The police officer said that the main reason behind the attempted suicide has not been known.

BJP attacked the Congress government

At the same time, after the matter came to light, the opposition BJP of Chhattisgarh has targeted the Congress government. BJP has condemned the incident and accused the Congress of failing to provide security to women. Opposition leader Dharamlal Kaushik tweeted, "The daughters of the state are not safe anywhere from Bastar to Balrampur, what kind of new Chhattisgarh they have come to build." The insensitive state government has not even two words of condolences on the incidents happening on daughters. But on the issue of Hathras, he is engaged in political drama to please his Delhi court.

He wrote in another tweet that the failed government of the state has failed on every front. There are no concerns about the safety of daughters. Now Chhattisgarh is becoming a sanctuary of criminals. There is too much excess everywhere, this is a tragedy.
