Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices Slashed, ATF Becomes Costlier: Check New Rates in Delhi and Kolkata

Commercial LPG cylinder prices have been reduced significantly from August 1, bringing major relief to hotels, restaurants, tea stalls and other commercial establishments. Oil marketing companies have cut the price of the 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder by up to ₹209, while Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) has become costlier by ₹5 per litre. The revised fuel prices reflect changes in global energy markets and international crude oil trends.

According to the latest price revision announced by state-owned oil marketing companies, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been reduced for the second consecutive month.

The revised prices include:

Delhi: ₹2,728 (Earlier ₹2,930)

Kolkata: ₹2,872.50 (Reduced by ₹209)

Commercial LPG price cut: Up to ₹209 depending on the city

This follows the previous reduction of ₹183.50 announced on July 1, providing continued relief to commercial users.

ATF Price Increased by ₹5 Per Litre

While commercial LPG prices have fallen, airlines have received a setback as the price of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) has increased.

The ATF price has risen from ₹110 per litre to ₹115 per litre, reversing the relief provided in the previous monthly revision and potentially increasing operating costs for airlines.

Restaurants and Hotels to Benefit

The latest reduction in commercial LPG prices is expected to directly benefit:

Hotels

Restaurants

Tea stalls

Caterers

Small food businesses

Commercial kitchens

Lower fuel costs could help businesses manage operating expenses and improve profit margins.

No Relief for Domestic LPG Consumers

There has been no change in the price of the 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder.

Consumers will continue to pay the existing rates:

Delhi: ₹942

Kolkata: ₹968

Mumbai: ₹941.50

Chennai: ₹957.50

Oil companies have not announced any reduction in household cooking gas prices.

Commercial LPG Prices Had Hit Record Highs

Commercial LPG cylinder prices had surged sharply earlier this year due to geopolitical tensions in West Asia and rising international energy prices.

The price of a 19-kg commercial cylinder had jumped from ₹1,740.50 in February to ₹3,113.50 in June, an increase of ₹1,373.

Following two consecutive monthly reductions in July and August, prices have eased considerably, although they remain higher than levels seen at the beginning of the year.

5-kg Market-Rate LPG Cylinder Also Becomes Cheaper

Oil companies have also reduced the price of the 5-kg market-rate LPG cylinder.

The revised price is now ₹762, down from ₹808.50, offering additional relief to commercial and small-scale users.

Why LPG Prices Change Every Month

LPG prices are revised on the first day of every month based on several factors, including:

International LPG benchmark prices

Crude oil price movements

Foreign exchange rates

Transportation costs

State-level taxes such as VAT

As a result, LPG prices may vary across different states and cities.
