Corona Vaccine - Russia and China Vaccine Approved; Why the Indian vaccine is getting delayed; When will we get the vaccine?

Posted on 13th Aug 2020 02:33 pm by rohit kumar

Neither China cares nor Russia. Both have approved their vaccines regardless of the World Health Organization (WHO) or international criticisms. China has approved the vaccine of the Cancino Biologics for limited use and is available for the Chinese military. At the same time, Russia went a step ahead and approved the vaccination of the Gamalaya Research Institute for everyone. Both vaccines are currently undergoing phase-3 testing. So far, it has not been proved to be completely effective and safe.

At the same time, with the increasing rate of corona infection, the corona vaccine has become in India among the top 3 countries of the world. But will be available for use by the end of the year. Why is it taking longer for vaccines in India? And how long will the effective and safe vaccine be available in India?

First of all, Russia's vaccine ...

Russia's President Vladimir Putin announced on August 11 that the Gamalaya Institute, together with the Ministry of Defense, created the Corona vaccine (Gam-Covid-Vac Lyo), which has been registered.

Russia has introduced this vaccine as the world's first vaccine approved for public use. Its production will start from September and the vaccine will be introduced to the general public from October.

Putin's daughter has also got vaccinated. According to the Russian President, this vaccine is of two doses. The daughter had a fever on applying the first dose but the next day she returned to normal. The same happened during the second dose.

Vaccine-protected antibodies protect the coronavirus for up to two years. Scientists at Gamalaya Institute believe that this vaccine is completely safe and effective. Paracetamol can help control fever.

In Russia, vaccines will be first introduced to medical staff, teachers, and people from other risk groups. Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said the vaccination of doctors would begin this month.

How did Russia make the vaccine so soon?

Gamalaya Institute developed this vaccine in June. Phase-1 trials were also started. Human adenoviruses have been used in Russian vaccines Ad5 and Ad26. Both are engineered with the coronavirus gene.

The outbreak of coronavirus was beginning to increase when the Vladimir Putin administration asked the drug regulator to reduce the duration of the trials. In the United Kingdom and the United States, drug regulators have slowed down stringent regulations in trials.

Russian scientists created the vaccine for Mars and Sars. It has undergone a partial reshuffle. There was a benefit in making the vaccine early. The worldwide vaccine is dependent on one vector while it is made up of two vectors.

The Kremlin is also behind Russia's haste. He wanted the image of Russia to be of global power worldwide. Government TV stations and media also praised the scientists to other countries and called the protest unnecessary.

If everything is so good in the Russian vaccine, what is the problem?

The Russian vaccine is suspected to be safe and effective. This is because there is no data related to the trials of this vaccine. It is not clear whether there was an investigation or not.

Alexander Ginzburg, head of Gamalaya Institute, said that vaccination would begin and phase-3 trials would continue during this time. There are also preparations to start Phase-3 trials in the UAE and the Philippines.

The Phase-3 test is usually conducted on thousands of people. Monitoring takes place several months after the vaccine is applied. Data collection takes place and then the vaccine is approved based on the analysis of the results.

Only 10% of clinical trials have been successful so far. From the speed with which Russia has run, scientists are also saying that Moscow has put its image at stake about vaccine safety.

The Association of Clinical Trials Organization requested the Russian Health Ministry to postpone vaccine registration before the trials. It was said that approving the drug before the test would greatly increase the risk.

Dr. Peter Kremsner, who is doing a clinical trial of the vaccine for Qorvec at Tuebingen University Hospital, says that releasing the vaccine without testing can be dangerous. This is putting people in danger.

Duncan Matthews, Intellectual Property Law Professor at Queen Mary University in London, said the vaccine is welcome, but there should be safety priority. US and European drug regulators have reduced the time for trials, but set strict standards. It remains to be seen how Russian standards are set.

In this way, India too can bring vaccines soon?

Can bring But will not bring. Krishna Biylla, chairman of Bharat Biotech International, which is making indigenous vaccine covaxin in association with ICMR, said the company was not in a hurry for the test.

Alla says that there is a lot of pressure on them to make the vaccine quickly. But safety and quality are at the top. The company does not want to be the cause of death by issuing the wrong vaccine.

The company wants to make the best quality vaccine. He is confident that the cocaine is an inactivated vaccine and that such a vaccine has a good record and will be effective against SARS-CoV-2 (coronavirus).

Alla says that we are being watched by international agencies and the community. We do not want to leave any shortcomings in research and we are focused on making the best quality vaccine.

Alla said- Indian industry is not less than Europe or American companies. China is far ahead of technology and clinical research. Bharat Biotech introduced a rotavirus vaccine a few years ago for $ 1 while GSK kept the price at $ 85.

At the same time, Serum Institute, the world's largest vaccine maker, has also started preparing for mass production of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine candidate. Its mass production is expected to begin in September.
