Corona's native drug: DRDO-made anti-covid drug 2DG launched; The medicine will be in powder form, dissolved in water in the morning and evening, and will be given to the patients.

DRDO's anti-corona drug 2DG was released on Monday for Emergency Use. Now, these can be given to patients. During this, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan were present. This drug is in the form of a powder. This drug will first be given to patients admitted to DRDO Covid Hospital in Delhi.

 

Will be available everywhere in June: DRDO

DRDO chief G. on the anti covid drug. Satish Reddy said that the total production will be around 10,000 in a week. Today AIIMS, AFMS, and DRDO are delivering in hospitals. The rest will be given to the states in the next phase. There is still some delay. From the first week of June, 2DG drugs will be available at all places.

 

He said that this drug would work directly on cells infected with the coronavirus. The immune system of the body will work and the patient will recover quickly. It has to be taken 2 doses at least 5-7 days in the morning and evening depending on the weight of the patient and the prescription of the doctor.

 

DRDO teamed up with Dr. Reddy's Laboratories

The drug is manufactured by DRDO's Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS) in association with Dr. Reddy's Laboratories. During clinical research, 5.85 grams of pouches of 2-DG medicine were prepared. Each of its pouches was dissolved in water in the morning and evening and given to the patients. Its results were good. Rapid recovery was seen in patients who were given medication. On this basis, the Drug Controller General of India has approved the emergency use of this drug.

 

The trial conducted in 27 hospitals in the country

Earlier, DRDO officials had said that the 27 hospitals across the country were last tested for this drug. The remaining stock has also been collected from there. It will be delivered to DRDO Hospital in Delhi. The work of bringing these medicines to Delhi is going on fast.

 

Will be given on the advice of doctors

Currently, this medicine will be given in hospitals only on the advice of a doctor. At present, only emergency use has been approved. Until this drug is approved for general use, it is not possible to come on the market.
