According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry, 13 thousand 450 people were cured in the country yesterday, after which the number of active cases has come down to 63 thousand 878. At the same time, the number of people who lost their lives due to this epidemic has increased to 5 lakh 14 thousand 878. According to the data, so far 4 crores 23 lakh 78 thousand 731 people have become infection-free.

Yesterday 24 lakh 62 thousand 5622 doses were given, after which 178 crore 55 lakh 66 thousand 940 doses of vaccine have been given so far. According to the Union Health Ministry, more than 2 crores (2,05,07,232) of precautionary vaccines have been administered to health workers, corona warriors, and people above 60 years of age suffering from other diseases. The anti-Covid vaccination campaign in the country started on January 16, 2021, and health workers were vaccinated in the first phase. At the same time, the vaccination campaign for the Corona warriors started on February 2.

 

Covovax recommended for emergency use for 12-17-year-olds

 

At the same time, an expert committee of the country's Central Drugs Authority has recommended emergency use permission (EUA) to the Serum Institute of India's (SII) anti-Covid vaccine Covovax for children aged 12 to 17 years. The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) on December 28 approved Covovax for limited use in an emergency in adults. It has not yet been included in the country's vaccination campaign. Prakash Kumar Singh, director of government and regulatory affairs at SII, had submitted an application to the DCGI on February 21, seeking a EUA for Covovax for children in the age group of 12 to 17 years.
