Corona infection cases are increasing rapidly worldwide, including in India and the United States. However, vaccination campaigns are also going on against it and various types of medicines are also being discovered which can be effective against Corona. In this sequence, the well-known pharmaceutical company Zydus Cadila has sought permission from the Controller General of Indian Medicine, DCGI, to use a drug of hepatitis in the treatment of the coronavirus. This drug is named Pegylated Interferon Alpha-2B.

Zydus Cadila said in a statement released on Monday that the clinical trial of Phase III of Pegylated Interferon Alpha 2B has shown encouraging results regarding the treatment of Corona with this drug. The company sells this drug under the brand name 'Pegihep'.

According to media reports, Zydus Cadila said that the initial results revealed showed that corona patients initially recover from the infection faster than its use. Along with this, it does not cause any problems to the patients.

According to reports, Cadila Healthcare has been commercially producing Pegylated Interferon Alpha 2B for the last several years under the brand for the treatment of Hepatitis B and C. Last year, a group of universities in China, Australia, and Canada analyzed corona patients in Wuhan to find that people who had been given interferon alfa-2b medication had significantly reduced virus outbreaks.

According to a report, a senior Cadila Healthcare official said last year, "Companies around the world are looking for safe and effective treatments to combat Covid-19. PEGylated interferon alpha has emerged as a possibility that results in better treatment when treated at an early stage. '
