In the 64th match of IPL 2024, Delhi Capitals defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 19 runs. Rajasthan Royals have benefited greatly from this victory of Delhi. Sanju Samson's Pink Army has secured the playoff ticket with the defeat of Lucknow. Rajasthan has become the second team to reach the playoffs of IPL 2024.

Rajasthan got playoff ticket

Rajasthan Royals, who had faced consecutive defeats in the last three matches, had their eyes set on the Delhi vs Lucknow match. Delhi showed a strong game at the Arun Jateli Cricket Stadium and defeated Lucknow by 19 runs. With the defeat of Lucknow, Rajasthan Royals have got the ticket for the last four. Rajasthan has become the second team after Kolkata Knight Riders to reach the playoffs. However, Rajasthan will still have a chance to finish the league stage on top.

Lucknow's batsmen cut their noses

Lucknow Super Giants, which set out to chase the target of 209 runs set by Delhi, had a very poor start. Captain KL Rahul walked out after scoring only 5 runs. After this, Quinton de Kock also became the victim of Ishant Sharma after scoring only 12 runs. Axar Patel showed Marcus Stoinis the way to the pavilion. Deepak Hooda was dismissed by Ishant Sharma without opening the account.

Puran Arshad's brilliant innings went in vain

However, Nicholas Pooran batted stormily from one end and played an explosive inning of 61 runs in just 27 balls. However, he could not get support from the other end. Puran hit 6 fours and 4 skyscraper sixes during his innings. In the last overs, Arshad Khan also tried his best to sail the team and scored 58 runs in 33 balls, but he could not lead the team to victory.
