Yamuna polluted, devotees will offer Arghya on artificial ghats.

Due to Yamuna being polluted, Chhath devotees will not be able to take a dip and offer Arghya. Most of the ghats have been surrounded by bamboo so that people cannot pollute it further. Artificial ghats have been constructed on the banks of Yamuna so that devotees can offer Arghya to the setting and rising sun.

During Covid, worship and fasting on the banks of Yamuna were prohibited. This time also there is a relaxation to fast on the banks of Yamuna, but devotees will not be able to offer Arghya by standing in the water of Yamuna on many ghats. Artificial reservoirs have been prepared on many ghats including ITO, Sur Vasudev. Pure water has been collected in it so that people can worship here.

This year, a ban has been imposed on celebrating this festival which is held every year in the Pushta of Sonia Vihar area. Gupta ji, who has been living in Sonia Vihar area since 1959, says that every year Chhath Puja is organized on this ghat, but this year Chhath Puja is not allowed to be organized due to the lack of an artificial cement ghat. In such a situation, people will be forced to worship at some other place.

Apart from this, due to the high speed of wind in the weather, pollutants were not accumulating in the air of Delhi-NCR. Where 339 AQI was recorded on November 1 and 316 on November 2, on the other hand, on November 2, the average contribution of stubble burning in the amount of PM 2.5 in Delhi was about 15 percent.
