Bulldozers will roar continuously against encroachment and illegal construction in the country's capital Delhi. After North and East Delhi Municipal Corporation, now South Delhi Municipal Corporation has made full preparations for it. According to the official information received, action against encroachment will start in the Central Zone of South Delhi Municipal Corporation from Wednesday.
According to the latest information received, SDMC has issued an action plan to remove encroachments in Okhla and Shaheen Bagh. Along with this, people have also got a signal that the encroachers should pack their belongings or else the goods will be confiscated.
Under this, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation will take action against encroachment and illegal construction on 6 May in the Okhla area and 9 in Shaheen Bagh. During this time all the construction will be removed by a bulldozer. During the action, preparations are being made to remove the encroachment from the footpaths, parks, and roads as well as demolish the construction done in violation of the rules.
The Deputy Commissioner of Municipal Corporation of Central Zone has written a letter to the Deputy Commissioner of Police of Southern and South-East Districts, demanding that an adequate number of police forces be made available. Central Zone Chairman Rajpal Singh said that in the first phase, action will be taken from May 4 to 13. An action plan for the next phase will also be prepared soon.
Significantly, on April 20, the North Delhi Municipal Corporation took action against illegal construction and encroachment in the Jahangirpuri area. Although the Supreme Court has put a stay on this, action is going on in other areas of Delhi. In this episode, all the three municipal corporations of Delhi are taking action against encroachment daily.
It is worth noting that in the last few days, the Mayor and Commissioner of South-Delhi Municipal Corporation had inspected and surveyed a series of actions against encroachment in Jaitpur, Madanpur Khadar, and Sarita Vihar.
Let us inform you here that on April 20, BJP's Delhi State President Adesh Gupta had written a letter to the mayors of South and East Corporations demanding the removal of encroachments done by Rohingyas, Bangladeshis, and anti-social elements in their areas. To this, the SDMC Mayor had said that regular meetings are being held to target the traffic jams and other issues in the areas where there is heavy encroachment.
During this, SDMC Mayor Mukesh Suryan indicated that the areas where the campaign is likely to be launched include Okhla, Tilak Nagar, and Shaheen Bagh. He had also said that removing encroachments from roads and government land is a mandatory task for anybody and the same approach is being adopted by SDMC.
