Diwali is the most important festival of Hinduism, which everyone eagerly awaits throughout the year. But this time everyone has the same question on their lips, when is Diwali (Diwali Kab hai)? Why is there confusion about the date of Diwali and when will Diwali be celebrated? Let us know.

Diwali is celebrated on the Amavasya date.

According to the Panchang, the festival of Diwali is celebrated every year on the day of Kartik Amavasya (Kartik Amavasya 2024). But it is also important that the main period of Amavasya's date is Pradosh and midnight. While other festivals are celebrated according to Udayatithi, the Pradosh period is necessary for Diwali. On this day, Laxmi Puja is also done during the Pradosh period.

Diwali will be celebrated on 31st October.

The Amavasya date of Kartik month will start on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at 2:52 pm, which will end the next day i.e. Friday, November 1 at 6:16 pm. This confusion has arisen due to Amavasya's date on both the days. But Diwali puja is considered auspicious in Pradosh Kaal.

Amavasya's date will end even before Pradosh Kaal starts on November 1. Therefore, it was decided unanimously by the scholars that celebrating Diwali on October 31 would be auspicious and scriptural. Lakshmi Puja will also be done on this day.

These works will be done on November 1

The festival of Diwali is celebrated in Pradosh Kaal and midnight. But Udayatithi is valid for bathing, donation, tarpan fasting, etc. In such a situation, Friday, November 1, 2024, will be a suitable day for bathing in the holy river, and making donations and offerings to ancestors. Also, Mahaveer Swami Nirvana Day will be celebrated on this day. This is a very special day for those who follow the Jain tradition.
