
New Delhi, Feb 24 (IANS) An employee of the defence ministry was arrested here Tuesday for his alleged involvement in the leak of documents from the petroleum and other ministries, police said.
Virender Kumar, who was employed as a casual worker, was arrested for providing a forged identity card along with a paper with an official letterhead to Lalta Prasad.
Police said the document was used by Rajkumar Chaubey to prepare the fake permission for his vehicle to project that it was hired by the government.
However, police said that no sensitive documents were found leaked or stolen from the defence ministry.
Lalta Prasad, 36, and Rakesh Kumar, 30 - both brothers and residents of Delhi, along with Rajkumar Chaubey, 39, a resident of Ghaziabad, were arrested Feb 17 night, the day the leak of documents from the petroleum ministry was unearthed.
All three are at present in judicial custody.
Delhi Police has registered two FIRs in connection with the leak of classified documents related to different ministries, including coal, petroleum and natural gas, and power -- first Feb 17 and second Feb 20.
Virender Kumar's named is mentioned in the first FIR.
