CSK vs LSG: Marcus Stoinis made a huge record in IPL history, leaving behind Virender Sehwag-Sanju Samson.

Lucknow Supergiants all-rounder Marcus Stoinis shattered the pride of Chennai Super Kings in the 39th match of IPL 2024 on Tuesday. CSK, which had an excellent record on its home ground, suffered a 6-wicket defeat by LSG with 3 balls remaining in a high-scoring match.


 

In the match played at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium, CSK batted first and with the help of a century from captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (108*scored 210/4 in 20 overs. Lucknow counter-attacked on the strength of Stoinis' innings and achieved the target by losing four wickets in 19.3 overs.


 

Marcus Stoinis' record

Marcus Stoinis scored an unbeaten 124 runs in just 63 balls with the help of 13 fours and 6 sixes. With this, he has made a big record in IPL history. Stoinis broke the 13-year-old record and set a new record in his name.


 

Marcus Stoinis has become the batsman to score the highest individual score while successfully chasing the target in IPL history. Stoinis broke the record of Paul Valthaty, who had scored an unbeaten 120* against CSK while playing for Punjab Kings in 2011.


 

Veeru-Sanju left behind

Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag is in third place in terms of making the highest individual score while chasing in IPL history. Veeru had scored 119 runs against Deccan Chargers in 2011. At the same time, the current captain of Rajasthan Royals, Sanju Samson is also a part of this special club. Sanju had played only an inning of 119 runs against Punjab Kings in 2021.
