'I will return the Asia Cup trophy only on one condition...' Mohsin Naqvi agrees to return the Asia Cup trophy to India.

Pakistan's Home Minister and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Mohsin Naqvi has been in the news ever since he fled the hotel with the Asia Cup 2025 trophy.

After defeating Pakistan by five wickets in the Asia Cup 2025 final on Sunday, the victorious Indian team refused to accept the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi, after which he took it with him.

A BCCI official stated that if Naqvi had tried to force the trophy, they would have lodged a formal protest. He also urged Naqvi to return the trophy as soon as possible. Now, a report has emerged stating that Mohsin Naqvi is ready to return the Asia Cup trophy to India, but with one condition. Let's learn more about this condition from the PCB President.

Mohsin Naqvi is ready to hand over the Asia Cup trophy on this condition.

According to a Cricbuzz report about PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, Naqvi has set a condition for sending the trophy and medals to the Indian team. The report claims that Naqvi told the organizers that Suryakumar Yadav and his team would only receive the medals and trophy if a formal function was held, in which he (Mohsin) would be given the responsibility of personally handing over the trophy and medals to the Indian team.

However, given the political relations between India and Pakistan, it is highly unlikely that such an arrangement will be made.

Naqvi is holding onto the trophy.

The Asia Cup trophy is also in the hotel where Naqvi is staying in Dubai. The BCCI is negotiating with the cricket associations of other countries participating in the ACC to retrieve the trophy. Naqvi has been asked to deliver the trophy to the ACC office in Dubai's Sports City, from where it will be sent to India.

The BCCI maintains that the trophy is not Naqvi's personal property, but rather belongs to the ACC. Therefore, he cannot keep it. The ACC's AGM, which failed to be held in Bangladesh, is scheduled for Tuesday in Dubai. The BCCI has requested that this be postponed.
