As the date of assembly elections in Maharashtra approaches, the election activities are in full swing. Meanwhile, on Wednesday (30 October 2024), in ABP News' special program Shikhar Sammelan, NCP chief and Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar openly expressed his views on the election results and many issues. Deputy CM Ajit Pawar was asked if he wanted to become the Chief Minister. In response to this question, he laughed and said that wait for a few days.

What did Ajit Pawar say on the question of becoming CM?

If the Mahayuti government is formed after the election results, will Ajit Pawar be in the race for CM? On this, NCP chief Ajit Pawar said, "Right now Eknath Shinde is the Chief Minister and under his leadership, we are going among the people of Maharashtra. After the election results, we will see... everyone will think together and then take a decision. Now everyone has to bring the Mahayuti government back to Maharashtra, this is our first task. Wait for 20-25 days." Deputy CM Ajit Pawar said that there is no fight between real and fake NCPs in Maharashtra. He said that there is no doubt that Sharad Pawar is a national leader. Ajit Pawar claimed that this time Mahayuti is going to get a majority in Maharashtra elections.

The time to file a nomination is over.

In the assembly elections to be held in Maharashtra, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is contesting 148 seats and Congress on 103 seats. The last date for filing a nomination was 29 October 2024. Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has fielded candidates on 80 seats, while Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's NCP has given tickets to 53 candidates. Five seats have been given to other allies of Mahayuti, while no decision has been taken on two seats.

In the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), the Congress is contesting 103 seats, while the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) is contesting 89 and the NCP (SP) 87. Six seats have been given to other allies of the MVA, while no decision has been taken on three assembly seats.
