Along with this, people also raised slogans against President Xi Jinping.

Police are chasing the protesters to suppress the Protest. People are being arrested forcibly. People are angry with the strictness of the government in the name of Corona restrictions. People's anger erupted after 10 people died in a building fire in Xinjiang, China on 25 November. It is alleged that the rescue team could not reach on time due to the lockdown.

This video, which is going viral on social media, has been shared by a journalist named William Yang. It can be seen that instead of stopping, the demonstrations are getting fiercer. People are also pelting stones at the police. In this, the police wearing white PPE kit is seen saving themselves.

people being arrested in handcuffs

According to Reuters, in another video police are seen taking some people away. These people have handcuffs on their hands. It is being said in the media reports that the police are taking many protesters by force in their vehicles.

People are imprisoned in homes, phones are being searched

The government has become so strict that it is not allowing the protesters to even come out of the house. The heavy police force is present in many cities due to which people are not able to gather. The police immediately dispersed the crowd. According to several reports people are being questioned and their phones are being searched.

Now let's understand this whole matter sequentially...

1. First the reason, which people got angry

Zero Covid policy is in force in China for 10 months. There are various restrictions, but anger erupted when a fire broke out on the 15th floor of a building in Xinjiang, China, on 25 November. 10 people died in this accident. Due to the lockdown, the relief could not reach on time. People alleged that the officers were negligent. After this people took to the streets in Beijing and demonstrations started.

2. Officers are not following the new flexible rules

The new rules ease restrictions on people and are designed to be less damaging to the economy, but local officials are unwilling to drop the strict rules as Covid cases rise. Instead of relaxing the rules, the officials are returning to the Zero Covid policy as before.

3. Slogans are being raised for Jinping to leave the throne.

People are raising slogans such as Jinping to oust, Communist Party oust, Unlock Xinjiang, Unlock China, don't want PCR test, want freedom of the press. We need democracy instead of dictatorship. People are standing on the streets with banners. It is written on the banner – Need Human Rights, Need Freedom.

4. People showing blank white paper

Expressing dissatisfaction, the protesters are protesting with blank white paper. In Beijing too, students were seen carrying out silent protests carrying blank white papers. This is a kind of protest done to avoid censorship or arrest.

Chinese media kept silent on the protest

The Chinese media is silent about this protest. No news related to the protest is being shown there. However, an article has been published in China's official newspaper Global Times, in which it has been said that the Western media is giving air to this matter related to the Zero Covid policy. It has been written quoting an official of Fudan University – Western countries are condemning the Communist Party of China due to mutual differences.
