In the fight between Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former deputy CM Sachin Pilot in Rajasthan, the Gehlot faction is now seen to be gaining ground. On September 25, the high command has given a clean chit to Gehlot faction ministers Shanti Dhariwal, Mahesh Joshi, and their close Dharmendra Rathod, who was considered the main characters of the rebellion, on making Pilot the CM. Significantly, Sachin Pilot himself had openly demanded action against the three leaders.
During appearances of reconciliation in the Pilot-Gehlot faction, a full bench meeting of the Congress Disciplinary Committee (DAC) was held under the chairmanship of former Defense Minister AK Antony. It also had secretary Tariq Anwar, member Ambika Soni, and GR Raju.
According to reliable sources, after the mutiny, all three tendered an unconditional apology on the notice sent by the high command. All three answers were presented in the meeting. There was a discussion about the action in the meeting, but the high command agreed to the apology. On Bhaskar's question, Tariq Anwar said – the DAC meeting had taken place. Now, this matter has cooled down.
According to sources, the committee sent the apologies of the three leaders to the then Congress President Sonia Gandhi asking what action should be taken in the matter. There was no response from Sonia's office. In such a situation, it was assumed that the three leaders have received the blessings of the high command. This is the reason why Dhariwal and Rathore were not only seen during Rahul's visit but also walked with him. Also appeared in the lead role.
Let us inform you that before this, CM Ashok Gehlot himself apologized after meeting the then President Sonia Gandhi for the whole rebellion. Here, when Bharat Jodo Yatra reached Kota, Dhariwal did not miss the show of strength in front of Rahul. Rathod has been placed on Rahul's felicitation committee in Alwar. On Tuesday itself, he met party president Mallikarjun Kharge along with newly elected Sardarshahar MLA Anil Sharma.
The then state in-charge Ajay Maken had resigned from the post after being angry over the lack of action on the Gehlot camp and Dhariwal-Rathore being given the responsibility of the yatra, but the high command did not take action. After Kharge became the president, Sachin Pilot advocated action against these three leaders and said that there is the same rule and discipline for all, and action should be taken soon on the notice. It cannot be that discipline is considered and a decision is not taken on it.
Gehlot gave hints
Recently, when a few days were left for the Bharat Jodo Yatra to reach Rajasthan, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot created a political uproar by calling Sachin Pilot a traitor. After this, Rahul Gandhi gave indications of reconciliation by describing both Pilot and Gehlot as assets of the party. Reconciliation between the two was also done during the visit of the party's organization general secretary KC Venugopal to Jaipur. After this, Gehlot himself gave signs of apology to the three leaders, saying that when Pilot-Gehlot are assets, their supporters are also assets of the party.
