Fresno Police Department Lieutenant William J. Dooley said that due to an online chat claiming that the victim of the shooting was Goldy Brar, we can confirm that this is simply not true.


 

He said we have received questions from around the world as a result of information being spread on social media and online news agencies. We don't know who started this rumor, but it caught on and spread like wildfire. But it is not true.


 

Police have not yet identified the two men who were attacked, one of whom later died in hospital. The second person was released from the hospital after treatment.


 

Firing took place on Tuesday evening

Two young men were attacked at Fairmont and Holt avenues on the northwest side of Fresno after a fight Tuesday evening. News of the shooting spread like wildfire in India, with claims that the deceased was gangster Goldy Brar.


 

Goldy is a resident of Muktsar

Goldy Brar was a resident of Sri Muktsar Sahib, Punjab. Goldy Brar's cousin Gurlal Brar was murdered in Chandigarh. Gurlal was shot outside a club located in Industrial Area Phase-1 on the night of October 11, 2020. He was a student leader of Punjab University.
